How It All Started

My lifelong dream of owning a local sewing and textile store was fulfilled in 2013, when I purchased the long-established business of Summerland Textiles. Summerland Textiles began some 40 years ago in Grafton by a local couple. They later sold the business to their daughter and her husband who moved Summerland Textiles to Casino and continued trading until their retirement. It was at this time I had the opportunity to purchase this established local business.
Although the location of the store has seen a number of changes, the products and service we provide remains true to old-fashioned values and service. We offer alterations and dressmaking services to our customers as well as providing all the items that you require to complete your sewing, quilting and crafting projects at home.
With over 1000 bolts of 100% cotton materials for quilting and dressmaking, you are sure to find the perfect product for your handmade item. Due to the specialisation of quilting, Summerland Textiles have a Bernina 20 quilting machine in-store for hire. We also offer classes in quilting and dressmaking should you like to improve your skill set or catch up with like-minded people in an enjoyable atmosphere.
We carry haberdashery, most quilting tools, sewing patterns, materials, DMC threads, crocheting cottons and accessories and wool. I am happy to help in any way to meet your needs and answer questions you may have. This store is unique to Casino, and we bring personalised customer based service through our shopping tours, getting to know our customers on a personal level, providing phone orders that can be shipped direct to customers, and providing special orders when required.
